2022 – A Year of Major Expansion
Slowing down enough to really take a focused look back at the last year brings forth a great deal of gratitude. This year has truly given Ashkan Image so many new, wonderful experiences, both professionally and personally.
We have had several amazing opportunities to provide professional photography in Houston in more unique and creative ways than ever before, allowing us to think outside of the box and really flex our creative muscles (which of course, we LOVE getting to do!).
Moreover, Ashkan Image has been able to really grow and expand both metaphorically and physically (more on that below). Profound life changes occurred on personal levels as well, making everything feel all the more exciting and just… sweeter.

MOVING INTO A NEW STUDIO
We kicked 2022 off on a VERY high note by moving into our new studio. This really allowed us to hit the ground running, setting the tone for the entire year and opening the door to limitless possibility and new endeavors.
The cutting-edge studio has something we have dreamt of for years: an infinity wall. The. infinity wall has completely changed the game for us when providing professional photography in Houston. It gives us the chance to capture our subjects in the best lighting imaginable since it ensures there are no shadows thanks to its curved surface. This has taken the quality of our images to a totally new level.
AWARD-WINNING PHOTOGRAPHY
Expanding upon the topic of our being thankful. Our studio and team have grown immensely this year which has garnered the attention of award committees and gallery judges alike.
From Ashkan Fine Art winning an award at the Archway Gallery in Houston to Ashkan Image being named “Best Photography Studio in Houston” we are nothing but grateful for the recognition and opportunity to WOW our peers. We can’t thank anyone but our community and clients that help us raise the bar and do what we love.
PAS DE DEUX DANCE PHOTOGRAPHY CONFERENCE
Ashkan got to live out a dream when he was invited to speak at the Pas de Deux Conference in Austin, TX at the beginning of the year. It was one of the most profound honors for him as he was amongst several of the most prolific within the photography community, especially within dance photography.
BECOMING A PARENT
As if there wasn’t enough excitement going on professionally this year, Ashkan and his wife, Christina, welcomed twins into the world in April! They love the new roles of being parents and have stepped into parenthood gracefully. We love watching them in this new season of their lives.
OFFERING PRIVATE WORKSHOPS
Ashkan stepped out of his usual professional photography in Houston box and began offering a variety of different private workshops this year. These one-on-one workshops came out of the vast numbers of questions he’s received on Instagram and Tiktok related to his tips, tricks, and techniques.
These workshops cover his fundamental guidelines when it comes to capturing images, as well as provide insight into how to optimize your lighting setup to achieve striking images. Moreover, he shares what he has learned over the years about what works best as related to different business strategies and how to set up your sessions to ensure you achieve the optimal results you desire.
